PTAL INTL is a leading manufacturer and exporter of sodium silicate, sodium meta silicate, linear alkyl benzene sulphonic acid (LABSA), potassium silicate and other chemicals. We are operating under the aegis of Kiran Pondy Chems Limited and Pure Trading Asia Limited, the flaghsip companies of the M. S Jain Group. The group came into existence in the year 1979. The company has thence grown from strength to strength and today manufactures an array of products that serve the textile, paper, construction, welding, ceramics, foundry, drilling, chemical and many more industries.
Our Products
Sodium silicate, or water glass as it is also known, is a versatile, inorganic chemical made by combining various ratios of sand and soda ash (sodium carbonate) at high temperature. Potassium silicate is a water-soluble silicate salt that is commonly used as an adhesive in welding rods. We deal in the following products:

The Applications
The liquid sodium silicate is used to manufacture laundry soap, detergent cake, sodium meta silicate, fire resisting and acid proof cement, casting, electrodes. Because of its unique properties, sodium silicate is used in various applications to manufacture silica gel, tooth paste, precept silica, zeolites, construction chemicals, oil field chemicals, paints, pigments, paper making, paper cones & tubes and foundry fluxes.
Sodium silicate is used, along with magnesium silicate, in muffler repair paste. When dissolved in water, both sodium silicate and magnesium silicate form a thick paste that is easy to apply. Sodium silicate can be used in older automobiles to seal leaks in the cooling system.
Sodium silicate was also used as an egg preservation agent in the early 20th Century with large success. When fresh eggs are immersed in it, bacteria which cause the eggs to spoil are kept out and water is kept in. Eggs can be kept fresh using this method for up to nine months. When boiling eggs are preserved in this way, it is well advised to pin-prick the egg to allow steam to escape because the shell is no longer porous.
